Holy City Varanasi

Varanasi commonly known as Banaras is the holy city of India. In ancient time this city is known as Kashi. Varanasi is one of the oldest cities in the world. Varanasi is also known as a city of temples and ghat, from ancient India to modern India Varanasi is always a source of art and craft, culture and literature. It is a religious center of  Hindus, Buddhists, and Jain. However, this is a place for every religious person, Hindus, or Muslims or Sikh. People of Varanasi gave equal respect to every religion. 


Stunning Ghats of Varanasi


Ghats are the riverfront steps built on the bank of river Ganga. There is a long stretch from Assi ghat in the south to Adi Keshava Ghat in the north, there are about 84 ghats on banks of river Ganga. These ghats are spiritually enlightening, Hindu pilgrims come here for worship and for taking bath in Ganga to clean their soul and make it pious. In Hindu religion, rivers are compared as mother and this is the reason why people worship Maa Ganga. Ganga aarti in the night around these ghats gave stunning memory in everyone life.


Culture, art, and craft 

For centuries, Varanasi has developed fame in the field of silk crafts and beautiful sarees popularly known as Banarasi sarees. Varanasi was the industrial and cultural hub of ancient India, which make this city a proud to the nation. Many famous legendary personalities in the field of literature and music born in this holy city, Munshi Premchand, Kabir Das, Tulsidas many such names are there who have given their contribution to the various field.

Place of Temples  and ancient  architecture 

Varanasi is a holistic place and many places we can visit like Lord Shiva temple Kashi Vishwanath, one of the 12 jyotirlinga,     Dashashwamedh Ghat,   Manikarnika Ghat,  Tulsi Manas Mandir- the place where Ramcharitmanas was written, Dhamek Stupa and Sarnath museum in Sarnath- a place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. There are still many more things to visit in this city.
