Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack, Odisha. He was a great leader and one of the most popular freedom fighter. He did matriculation from Presidency College, Kolkata and graduated from the University of Calcutta in 1918. Later he went to England, Where he cleared the Indian Civil Services Examination in 1920. However, he resigned from his Civil Service job in April 1921, to join India's freedom movement.
He was inspired by Bengali political leader Chittaranjan Das and joined freedom struggle of India. Soon, he was Elected as President of the Indian National Congress in 1938. But later he resigned in 1939, because of his differences with other leaders of Indian National Congress. After resigning, he formed the Forward Block, unfortunately, it was not very successful.
He believed that only non-violence movement is not enough to eradicate the Britishers from India. He wants to create an Independent Indian army to fight against British rule in India. He went Germany and Japan to help in the freedom struggle of India. He created an independent Indian army called Azad Hind Fauz of native Indians in the foreign country.
His Slogan Delhi Chalo and Jai Hind are always remembered. He inspired his army by his extraordinary speech. His one of the popular words are "Give me blood and I will give you freedom" gave a new energy among the Soldier to fight for freedom.
